Happy International Women's Day From Baby2Body!

Baby2Body is here for women. We're here for men. We're here for everyone in between. Baby2Body is here for #BalanceforBetter and the message that by creating and supporting balance and equality for all, we can make the world a better place to live in.

We'll take a step back and explain a bit more: every year a new theme is announced in honor of International Women's Day. It's meant to set the tone for the year ahead as it relates to women's rights and equality - but really it's about human rights and equality for every person in every corner of the world.

There are a few themes circling around for 2019, all with a similar message that 'now is the time for women in the workplace'. We referenced one trending theme at the start of this post, the #BalanceforBetter campaign, which looks at gender-balance, not as a women's issue, but as a business and economic issue that needs to be addressed on a global scale. It's about balancing the number of women in all types of workplaces - from boardrooms to government offices - and building a world where employment and pay are gender-balanced.

Another IWD theme announced by UN Women is as follows: Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change. Their statement sums it up perfectly,

"At a time when innovation is dominant, shaping and changing the way people live in every part of the world, we have to be intentional about its use to positively impact the lives of women and girls. That means making sure they are not only consumers of innovation, but take their place as innovators. With their engagement, both design and execution of solutions can address the unique needs of women and girls, from the creation of decent work to delivery of products, services and infrastructure for women in all walks of life."excerpt from Statement for International Women's Day by Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka

Here at Baby2Body, with our fearless female leader and a feminine-focused product, we know the positive impact that women can have as innovators. However, we're not strangers to the fight for balance in this space: the number of women in tech, the difference between funding for male-led versus female-led startups, the percentage of female investors - balance in those areas don't exist... yet.

The truth is, we don't live in a gender-balanced world... yet.

But we wholeheartedly believe in the power of celebrating balance where it exists and championing balance where it does not in order to build a better future for everyone. While we are so proud to be a female-founded and led company, we also want to make it clear that we are not a female-only organization, because that wouldn't be very balanced of us. The more people we can bring into this company - of different genders, races, cultures, economies, and histories - the greater the possibilities become of what we can create for women all over the world. And that's really what #BalanceforBetter is all about, right?

We will continue to prioritize balance in our own business as well as supporting initiatives that benefit women and girls around the world. We're wishing you a happy International Women's Day and hope you can take the time to look for where balance exists in your life, recognize where it does not, and identify what you can do to make a positive change.

We'll be sharing some of our #BetterforBalance posts today over on our Instagram, so be sure to check us out @baby2bodyofficial!
