Tell us a bit about yourself!
Hey! I am Charlotte, an inspired woman, wife, and mom-to-be. I am from Paris, France, but have been living in Los Angeles for the past 8 years already. I am a healthy living hustler, passionate about beauty and wellness, and my purpose is to empower women to live a healthy, happy and free life. 2019 has been exceptional so far as I am embarking in the most incredible adventure of my life: I am pregnant with my first child. OMG! It’s a boy, and I will meet him in June.
Why do you love Baby2Body, and what role has it played in your mama-hood journey?
I love Baby2Body for many reasons: the app is a fantastic tool to stay active while making a baby. As expecting moms, it can be tough to get motivated and inspired every day to keep our body, mind, and soul healthy. With the Baby2Body app, I have the resources I need to become an awesome mom and stay up to date with my pregnancy, my growing baby, and my needs as a woman, a wife, and a future mom.
Why did you want to become a Baby2Body Ambassador?
I chose to become a Baby2Body Ambassador because even though I am not even a mom yet, I feel like one. This app has been wonderful support so far: from fitness and nutrition to motivation and general knowledge about my pregnancy and even myself, I feel even more motivated, supported and ready to make the most of my pregnancy and future adventure as a mama. I want every woman to be able to experience that and be empowered to live the life they envision for themselves.
Now for some quick questions:
What’s been the best part of your pregnancy?
Feeling my growing baby for sure. I’ve also felt terrific the whole time, I have not been sick and I’ve been to keep active. Just from the experience of being pregnant, I have grown so much.
What’s been the hardest part of your pregnancy?
The hardest part for me was to accept my changing body. Starting my third trimester, I felt physically limited, which was hard for me because I rarely slow down. I worked with mantras and affirmations to align my body with my mind and soul. The mindset you have is critical. As hard as it can be, it is also very doable.
What’s your strangest pregnancy craving?
Tomatoes. At. Every. Meal! Oh, and mustard, but only if it’s from France.
What’s your favorite type of workout?
Early on I started to enjoy cardio more and more. Whether it was on a treadmill or outdoor, I appreciated the whole body feeling of it. Besides cardio and endurance, I am enjoying strength training more. Even though I still put on weight due to my growing baby, I can see my legs and arms are getting toned, and that is rewarding. I was a massive fan of yoga before, and funny enough, I have not done a lot of prenatal yoga until recently. I started up with yoga again because I needed to stretch and work more with my breathing to prepare for labor, and so far it has been very beneficial. Last but not least, in LA, summer is knocking at the door, and I am hoping to be “jumping” into the pool very soon.
How do you relax and unwind?
Before pregnancy, I would say with a great book and a glass of wine! It is funny how pregnancy changes you… Now it’s a great book, a fresh herbal ice tea or natural lemonade, and I feel in paradise. I also love writing. My husband and my cat are also my secret weapons for keeping me feeling supported, loved and completely relaxed.
What’s the one thing you do, or wear, or focus on that makes you look and feel amazing?
When you are expecting, it takes a village to help you stay glamorous and active. The one thing I make time for every day – even when I don’t feel like it – is exercise, for at least for 30 minutes. I also try to dress to impress with clothes that feel feminine, comfortable, and fashionable (easy with a cute little bump) – accessories count! – and I’ve pampered myself with an upgraded natural skincare routine using as little as possible makeup.
