Tell us a bit about yourself!

I’m what you’d call a third-culture kid. Having 3 nationalities, but never having lived in any of those countries, I consider myself a true citizen of the world. I’ve spent most of my life in Dubai, UAE, where I was also born, and met my husband, and we’re now having our first baby in less than 9 weeks!!

Why do you love Baby2Body, and what role has it played in your mama-hood journey?

I was looking for a safe workout that I could do on my own whether at the gym or at home without having to hire a PT. I also wanted modern day tips and relevant information throughout this pregnancy. Stumbling upon the app, I found it very user-friendly, straight forward, yet inspiring to read the quick health-related articles.

Why have you chosen to become a Baby2Body Ambassador?

Firstly, it was an honor to be part of the program. As a first time mom, I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing, however all I know is that we cannot compare ourselves to anyone else. Every woman’s pregnancy is different, so I have learnt! This was the first lesson as my mom compared hers to mine. There is no right or wrong. Listen to your body, and love it, no matter what.

I’d love to encourage other moms to stay fit through their pregnancies without thinking it’s extreme to do so! I’ve had to stop a lot of extreme sports, yet I was able to substitute the endorphin kick with simple moves that are both beneficial to me and to my baby. My first trimester was very difficult and I was diagnosed with depression. My doctor urged me to get back to working out so I can get these natural endorphins back. Our hormones are all out of whack, and we all respond to them differently. Doing simple workouts truly changed my mood and attitude towards the whole pregnancy, and obviously kept me in good shape! We do the best we can!

What’s been the best part of your pregnancy?

What’s been the hardest part of your pregnancy?

The first trimester was horrible for me. A mix of morning, *cough* ALL DAY, sickness, nausea, crazy hormones, and depression really put me down for about 4 months. I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t looking forward to anything, and I was miserable.

What’s been your strangest craving while pregnant?

Haha! All I could have the first 3 months was cereal and milk – two things I never had before!! Second trimester cravings were soggy fries and ketchup. A lot of my all time favorites were gone; I can’t stand spicy food now, or any crisps!

How do you relax and unwind?

I get at least one massage a week. I’ve learnt how to nap. While the weather has just started getting better in Dubai, spending days by the pool are just a godsend!
