Tell us a bit about yourself!
I am a new mum-to-be, expecting my first this December! I grew up in a little country town in Australia and I now live just outside of Melbourne. I have had a varied career, first starting out in the Australian Army, I then went on to study Sports Management & Communications. After that I worked within commercial teams of the largest sporting and entertainment industries in the country, including horse racing, football, tennis and e-sports. My husband and I want lots of kids (4 or 5), so my focus the past 12 – 18 months has been about building a life I love and one we can do with our kids in tow. My dream is to be a very hands-on mum, with a business on the side that will one day make my kids proud.
Why do you love Baby2Body, and what role has it played in your mama-hood journey?
Baby2Body is the one stop shop and that is why I love it. It covers everything from baby updates, meditation, pelvic floor exercises, recipes, exercise tips and so much more with a variety of different things each week. Sometimes advice from friends and family is confusing and overwhelming, Baby2Body has been great in the sense it gives you all the facts, information and support in a warm, gentle and supportive way.
Why have you chosen to become a Baby2Body Ambassador?
I chose to become a Baby2Body ambassador so I can go on the ride with other mums and women all over the globe. Plus the opportunity to work with Baby2Body, a product that is genuinely authentic with a vision to support women through the good times and the bad.
My message to other Baby2Body mums is simple: I’ll do me and you do you, meaning all you can do is become more of you (which is amazing)!
Now for some quick questions:
What’s been the best part of your pregnancy?
The movements are insane. Nothing brings you back down to earth or more in the moment than having a little baby inside of you, reminding you of that magic going on in there.
What’s been the hardest part of your pregnancy?
I’ll put my hand up and confess, I am a control freak. Not all of the time, but I like getting stuff done (quickly) and I am fiercely independent. So now that I am at a stage in my pregnancy where I can’t lift heavy things and have to be more mindful of this little person inside of me, I have to alter what I can and can’t do – so at times I feel completely helpless. Learning to rely on people for what seem to be the most mundane tasks has been frustrating. Maybe it’s another phase of pregnancy that prepares you for motherhood – don’t they say it takes a tribe to raise a baby?
What’s been your strangest craving while pregnant?
Soggy Weetbix. An Australian style cereal!
What’s your favorite type of workout?
I try to exercise every day. I aim for 2 – 3 strength sessions a week (I did a lot of functional fitness training before I was pregnant), 2 – 3 walks and a swim or yoga on the other days just to mix it up.
How do you relax and unwind?
I really enjoy a long walk to relax and unwind, or a pedicure as a real treat.
What’s the one thing you do or wear or focus on that makes you look and feel amazing?
I have had my days were I have felt horrible, days I genuinely believed I would never feel sexy ever again! But now with a bump that has popped, I love dressing it up. I love fitted dresses or wrap dresses, with a long trench or coat of some sort. Chrissy Tiegen has given me plenty (if not all) of pregnancy fashion inspiration! I have found plenty of clothes that aren’t maternity that I love to wear while pregnant.
