Tell us a bit about yourself!
My name is Katrina, and I was raised in a good ol’ small town outside of Nashville, TN. I am now living in Nashville with my husband and two dogs (who are my babies now!). I have my master’s degree is in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, which led me to health coaching for 4 years! Now, my day job is an account manager for a marketing firm, but my true passion is really all about empowering women. I do this through teaching Pilates and my blog called “Intuitive Pregnancy” to share the wins AND the struggles of my pregnancy journey and encourage women to trust their mama intuition. I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with a baby boy! This will be our first child, and I am beyond excited for motherhood.
Why do you love Baby2Body, and what role has it played in your mama-hood journey?
Baby2Body has been my FAVE pregnancy app so far!! It gives me quick tips, resources, and guides (because pregnancy brain is REAL!). I love the guided breathing section of the app for stress relief, and I absolutely love the curated workouts it gives me (this way, I don’t have to stress about what I am doing for my exercise).
Why have you chosen to become a Baby2Body Ambassador?
One thing I have learned so far is that pregnancy is NOT a walk in the park, and women need encouragement and empowerment through this process. I hope that through being a Baby2Body Ambassador, I can be that voice of support, positivity, and hope! My message to other moms would be to trust your intuition and know your greatness! Many things on social media or other’s opinions can make us question our worth and our decisions that we are making, but YOU know what is best for your baby. Trust that! 🙂
Now for some quick questions:
What’s been the best part of your pregnancy?
The best part of my pregnancy has most definitely been feeling this baby boy kick! I can just lay down for hours feeling his movements and be perfectly content.
What’s been the hardest part of your pregnancy?
The hardest part would be a combination of a threatened miscarriage at the beginning. My hormones were not at the proper levels during my first trimester, and doctors were telling me this might not be a viable pregnancy. It was tough mentally, but I knew I would make it through! Also – morning sickness, which is really all day sickness, was tough and I’m VERY glad that’s over now.
What’s been your strangest craving while pregnant?
At one point I was craving a quesadilla AND pancakes at the same exact time!
What’s your favorite type of workout?
Pilates and Barre are my favorites!
How do you relax and unwind?
Deep breathing, yoga, snuggling my dogs (and husband), being outdoors, taking a warm bath with a face mask on, prenatal massages, all the good things!
What’s the one thing you do or wear or focus on that makes you look and feel amazing?
I really do my best to focus on getting proper nutrition and exercise. I am NOT perfect though. On those weeks I am fueling myself properly and getting at least 4 days of exercise in, I feel my best and so confident!
