5 Family Friendly Ski Destinations

Did you know that over 1.5 million women, from over 120 different countries (yes, 120!!) have joined Baby2Body since we launched 5 years ago? We're so proud of the global product we've built and we're honored to have a worldwide audience of women that are part of this incredible community.

So... what does that have to do with family friendly ski destinations? Well, since so many of you are from so many different parts of the world, we went searching for some of the best ski destinations across the globe that cater to families and offer enough outdoor winter activities to satisfy powder hunters and lodge dwellers alike.

Hopefully this list gives you and your crew some inspiration for getting outside and staying active all winter long. And if you're feeling the travel bug, there should be plenty of ideas below to help you plan your next family ski trip!

5 Family Friendly Ski Destinations & Outdoor Activity Inspiration

Les Trois Vallees, France

Translated as "the 3 valleys" -- this winter mecca gives access to 7 different resorts: Courchevel, Méribel, Orelle, Saint Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, and La Tania.

Family friendly activities include: Ice skating, snowshoeing, ice karting, carriage rides, a visit to the Igloo Village (Val Thorens), outdoor yoga classes, dog sledding, and fully electric trips on snow scooters (Les Menuires).

If you're feeling particularly adventurous you can also give these a try: ice diving, paragliding, helicopter tours, and zip-lining (Val Thorens).

Whistler Blackcomb, Canada

Now part of the Vail family, Canada's long-standing premier ski resort offers incredible experiences for the winter sports lover.

Family friendly activities include: Ice skating int he Whistler Olympic Plaza, ice fishing, attending the legendary Fire & Ice show, taking part in Vallea Lumina (an interactive nighttime adventure), and cross country skiing.

If you're looking for some indoor (read: no bulky ski jacket necessary) experiences, Whistler also offers: indoor climbing, 8 cinemas to satisfy the cinephiles in your group, several museums, and some divine Spa retreats.

Zermatt, Switzerland

Switzerland's highest ski resort with unparalleled views of the one and only Matterhorn; need we say more?

Family friendly activities include: Forest Fun Park, winter playgrounds, visiting the Old Village, Matterhorn Museum, Wolli's treasure hunt, ice skating, and indoor swimming, lunch at one of the restaurants at the top of the slopes.

For the adults in your party: book a spa day at one of the Zermatt hotels, hit the gym, get some swings in at the Matterland Indoor Golf facility, have a go at an Escape Room.

Deer Valley, Utah, USA

Deer Valley is known to be a great family resort and easy to access, less than an hour from Salt Lake City Airport. They do limit the number of skiers to 7,500 per day so crowds never really become a problem!

Family friendly activities include: Dog sledding, sleigh rides, tubing at Woodward, strolls and shopping on historic Main Street, touring the Olympic Park, and snowshoeing!

A trip to Deer Valley gives you access to all that Park City has to offer, including these great non-skiing winter activities: snowmobiling, snow biking, and curling at the Park City Curling Club.

Levi, Lapland, Finland

A great family resort located in a truly magical place -- Lapland is often referred to as "Santa Claus Land", and you'll be able to ski here from December to May.

Family friendly activities include: Exploring the Snow Villages and Igloos, reindeer meet and greets, going on a Husky Safari, ice fishing, meeting Santa's little helpers, sledding tours, and ice karting.

For a romantic evening with your partner (or the whole family!): nothing beats a nighttime snowmobile ride to see the Northern Lights.
