The Autumn Edit

We’re in the midst of the autumnal months, and with the quickly dropping temperatures and shortening daylight hours we’re looking for things to stay positive about. A few of us on the Baby2Body Team were in New York City this past week and we welcomed warmer air and jetting off to meetings without heavy jackets in tow. But back in London we were greeted with much chillier weather, and so we’ve packed away our summertime wardrobe until next year. But, if we’re being honest, we’ve enjoyed reviving our favorite chunky sweaters, popping on our leather jackets, and donning our most comfortable leggings on these fall weekends. That’s inspired us to bring you our very first Autumn Edit – complete with our favorite staples perfect for mixing and matching and staying stylishly warm.

THE AUTUMN EDIT.

1. The chunky sweater

We can bet by the new year we’ll be itching to get out of sweaters, but for now we’re rejoicing in the warm embrace of knitwear. But just because the days are getting grayer doesn’t mean our wardrobe has to follow suit. We love this chunky, highneck sweater in a beautiful blush. Available in maternity sizes here.

2. Comfy cashmere

Tan was on trend this year at New York Fashion Week, and we weren’t mad about it. Stay in style and keep things classic with this wear-anywhere beige, cashmere top.

3. The blue button down

We love stepping out in a crisp blue shirt on a crisp fall day – and this tailored, blue-stripe top with a slight ruffle detailing suits our style perfectly. Button-downs aren’t often found in a maternity wardrobe, but this belted blue button-down option is one of our favorites, and it’s sure to flatter your baby bump.

4. The new “LBD”

We’re putting aside our little black dresses in favor of some long black dresses. Whatever the occassion, a form-fitting, midi length and long-sleeved black dress is the perfect go-to on a cool autumn day. For our pregnant readers, we love this elegant midi dress from Isabella Oliver, though if you’re looking to spend less, this is a great option as well. And for our new moms – you can’t miss with this simple staple from H&M.

5. Lovely leggings

Leggings transition so perfectly in and out of your maternity days, so we had to add them to the list. For an autumn outing we like the versatility of a well-fitting leathered legging to spice up an outfit. You can find a maternity option here! If you’re in the mood for more of an athleisure look – our favorites are Lululemon’s First Mile Tech Tight.

6. Colored crops

As much as we love a good legging, we’ll reserve those for weekend wear. For days in the office we like to sport a more structured style. These army green slacks fit the fall vibe, and the slightly cropped length makes us think that summer isn’t really that far away… right? For our pregnant moms, hereis an option that provides full bump coverage and all-day comfort.

7. The puffer vest

When you try to combine chunky knit jumpers with heavy jackets, things can get uncomfortably hot pretty quickly. That’s why we love a down puffer vest as an autumn outerwear must-have. We recommend this incredibly soft, and very affordable, black down vest from Uniqlo.

8. A leathered look

We absolutely love this gorgeous, wine-colored leather jacket this time of year. It’s a subtle statement piece that you can pair with so many different looks. It’s one of those items that makes us excited that it’s cold out, because we can finally pull it off the hanger.

9. Block-heeled beauties

A block-heeled boot is a wardrobe staple at any time of year – but we definitely didn’t frequent these shoes as much during the summer, so we’re glad to have them back in regular rotation. We love the styling of this pair from Vince Camuto – black or tan, take your pick!

10. Classic Carry-all

You can’t leave the house without a classic carry-all bag. Not only is it a necessity for busy moms and moms-to-be, it’s the perfect way to finish off your autumn look.
